Walnut Dish
Ben McBrien (Farmhaus), 2012
13" W x 6" D x 1.75" H

McBrien is one of Philadelphia’s resident saviors of discarded lumber. He describes this bowl as “a simple dish made from an off-cut of walnut that was too beautiful to burn.” Its form brings to mind a chunk of marble about to be chiseled into by a sculptor. Bonus points for functionality. (See #37, Worthless Console, for more about McBrien.) CT
