Stylex in Delanco, NJ — just over the Tacony Palmyra Bridge from Philadelphia — is a manufacturer of seating for commercial interiors founded in 1956. The “Paz” chair was designed with a nod to the Eames experiments in molded plywood. The organic shape and curves of the arm and back are made possible with the technique of bending plywood, and is an efficient use of wood in manufacturing. This model has a Zebrawood veneer on the shell. The chair is also Greenguard certified, so it does not emit any VOCs into the air, and the factory exceeds NJ’s EPA requirements for indoor air quality. RE
