Part of Florence Knoll’s 1954 Collection, this sofa has a companion lounge chair, settee, and benches. This collection was completed eight years after Knoll founded her eponymous furniture company with her then husband, Hans, in 1946 in East Greenville, PA, where she championed the concept of “total design.” Florence Knoll believed good design must embrace all disciplines, including architecture, interior design, textile design, and graphic design. Knoll is also known for making contributions to the fields of interior design and space-planning that are still in use today. RE
