Crochet Pouf
Kimberly Madeya, 2011
Italian Wool Yarn, Cotton Fabric Lining, Down and Fiber Fill
24" Diameter x 14" H

This round pouf was crocheted mainly on the SEPTA Regional Rail line between Downingtown and Center City, where Madeya would commute between home and work. The pouf was inspired by Italian designers’ use of high-quality materials, as well as use of saturated color. The crochet work was done using thicker yarns than Madeya typically uses, since the finished product’s scale was intended to be larger than what she normally makes. Madeya studied Interior Design at Philadelphia University where she found her passion for design and sustainability. RE
