“AHA” Chair
Tim Lewis, 2009
Walnut and Poplar Wood
21" W x 21" D x 32" H

A graduate of University of the Arts where he studied and worked under Jack Larimore, Lewis opened up his own studio in Fishtown after four years out of school. He is a designer and builder of furniture and lighting, bringing his appreciation of craft to the studio. The “AHA” chair gets its name from the shape of the frame (it forms an A on the side and an H from the front and back). The frame is painted poplar, and the seat, back, and arms are walnut. The juxtaposition of the vibrant green paint and the natural walnut is what gives the viewer an “a-ha” moment. RE
